Why China Supporting Taliban?

Kabul,18/8:After the capture of Liban, now the eyes of the whole world are on Afghanistan. Countries like Britain, European Union, Qatar, Uzbekistan, including India, have made it clear that they will not recognize the rule of Taliban. However, countries like China, Russia, Turkey are showing interest in maintaining friendly relations with the Taliban. China has already clarified this. The reason behind this is also the personal interests of China. Actually China shares 76 km border with Afghanistan.

According to a Bloomberg report, China is in no mood to rush into Afghanistan yet. At present, it is neither trying to fill the security situation arising out of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, nor is it looking towards Afghanistan with the Belt and Road project. Afghanistan has large reserves of gas and petrol, including copper, coal, iron, lithium and uranium. Although even after this, Chinese companies are not considering going there at the moment, although some have decided to go to the Afghan market.

China sees Afghanistan as a very high-risk environment and the desire to turn it into an opportunity is another consideration, says Andrew Small, a Senior Transatlantic Fellow at the German Marshall Fund and author of The China-Pakistan Axis.

Smalls has been monitoring China’s relations with Pakistan and Afghanistan for years. He said that China is deeply concerned about regional stability and renewed terrorist infiltration in Xinjiang province. Where international human rights organizations and countries such as the US and Britain say that China is committing widespread abuses against the local Muslim Uighur population.
