Chandigarh, 18/9: In a big development, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh resigned from the post on Saturday evening, just months before the state goes to polls. Indications of a likely change in Congress state unit had emerged hours before the meeting of Congress legislature party in Chandigarh.
Previously, 50 MLAs demanded the resignation of Captain as the chief minister.Congress has 77 MLAs in 117 member assembly.
