India strict on not recognizing Britain’s Covishield, expressed objection

New Delhi, 21/9: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar (MEA S Jaishankar) has raised the issue of non-recognition of Covishield with Britain. The External Affairs Minister said that non-recognition of the Kovidshield vaccine is a discriminatory policy. Britain has assured to resolve it soon. The Foreign Secretary gave this information on Tuesday. He explained that Covishield’s de-recognition is a discriminatory policy and affects our citizens traveling to the UK. The Foreign Minister has strongly raised this issue with the new Foreign Secretary of Britain. He said that I have been told that some assurances have been given that this issue will be resolved.

Let us tell you that there is increasing pressure on the UK government to review the rules set for its Kovid-19 vaccine for travelers coming from India. According to the new rules (UK Travel Guidelines) to be effective from next month, Indian vaccines have not been recognized in the detailed list of vaccines from various countries.
