Cuttack, 23/9:A woman who was undergoing treatment at Cuttack SCB Medical’s ECMO Unit died. As a result, all four patients admitted to the unit lost their life. The ECMO-unit is now empty after the death of the woman, who was treated as the fourth and last patient yesterday.
The dead woman was from Cuttack Nishchintkoili area. She was admitted to the Ecmo Unit, which opened at Cuttack General Hospital on August 28 as the first patient. She was followed by a woman from Balangir, a man from Kendrapara and a man from Bhubaneswar. The three were pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man who was admitted to Kendrapara died first. Then a woman from Balangir lost her life.
