Kanpur, 5/11:Even before Diwali, Zika virus in Kanpur has caused a big ‘explosion’ in Kanpur. The maximum number of 30 infected have been found so far. Zika viral infection has been confirmed in the sample sent from the Containment Zone of Chakeri area. Among the new infected, 10 are women and 20 are men. With this, the total number of Zika infected has gone up to 66. The Health Department had sent samples from Zika affected localities of Chakeri area, Harjender Nagar, Air Force Complex, Pokharpur, Lalkurti, Motinagar, Ashrafabad, Adarshnagar etc. CMO Dr. Naipal Singh said that the report of 30 people has come positive. Of these, 10 are women. At the same time, District Magistrate Visakh G Iyer has also made nodal officers for the prevention of Zika virus, who are monitoring the case history by monitoring it.
