India has a diplomatic win in COP26 meet

New Delhi, 14/11:India has got a big victory at the level of international diplomacy in the ongoing United Nations conference COP26 in Glasgow with the aim of preventing climate change. India managed to persuade other member countries of the world to include coal in ‘phase down’ instead of ‘phase out’ after several days of talks at the conference here. After agreeing to this, India finally supported the draft of COP26, which was passed by about 200 countries.

In order to keep the global warming target alive, the goal of 1.5 °C temperature has been set under this climate agreement in Glasgow. In this, India and China have succeeded in changing the terminology of phasing out coal and fossil fuels at the last minute and include the matter of phasing down.
