Low Pressure In Bay Of Bengal To Bring More Rains

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that a low pressure area is likely to form over Andaman Sea around November 30. The system will become more marked and move west-northwestwards by December 2.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during this period. The Special Relief Commissioner’s office issued an advisory which stated that all fishermen should return to coast by December 2.

Light to moderate rainfall or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places overt South coastal Odisha districts, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada from December 2 morning for one day, the IMD stated.

Squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph gusting upto 70 kmph is likely over westcentral Bay of Bengal from December 2. The SRC has directed Collectors to keep a close watch on the situation.
