In this he said that we need to be ‘proactive’. At the same time, in view of the potential dangers, he also asked the officials to review the plan for easing international travel restrictions. The Prime Minister also appealed to the people to be more vigilant, wear masks and follow all preventive measures including proper distance.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that Modi spoke about the need to be ‘proactive’ while looking at the new variants. According to the PMO, he said, ‘In view of the new threat, people need to be more careful and take appropriate precautions like applying masks as well as following social distancing.’

Will there be a travel ban again? Let us tell you that in recent days, after the cases of Corona reduced, India had removed the travel ban imposed on many countries. But now PM Modi has asked to review it. He said in the meeting that the countries from which there is a risk of spreading new variants should be marked separately. At the same time, he highlighted the need for monitoring of all international arrivals with special attention and screening of passengers as per guidelines.
