Bhubaneswar, 31/12: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has announced a three per cent increase in the cost of living allowance for state government employees. As a result, the cost of living allowance for government employees has risen from 28 percent to 31 percent. This will be effective from January 7, 2120. The revised rate of pensions for pensioners has also been increased by three per cent. It will benefit 7.5 lakh government employees and pensioners in the state.
The chief minister has also decided to pay 30 per cent arrears of the Seventh Pay Commission. According to the Seventh Pay Commission, employees have received 50 per cent of their wages between January 2016 and August 2017. It will benefit 400,000 government employees in the state.
