Coronavirus hits IPL Mega Auction

Bangalore, 4/1: BCCI is busy in preparations regarding IPL 2022. Mega auction is to be held before the new season. This time in the T20 league, 10 teams will land instead of 8. But in the meantime big news is coming about the league. Due to Corona, there may be changes in both the date and venue of the mega auction. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was also found positive recently. It is known that in the past, 8 old teams have retained 27 players. 2 new teams will now be able to add 3-3 players with them.

According to the news of Inside Sports, the mega auction is to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. But it can be changed due to the restrictions of Kovid-19. A senior BCCI official said, “Some things are not in our hands. We must wait. Booking is no problem. Information is being gathered about the restrictions. We are keeping a close watch on the situation and are also in touch with the state association. If there is a need to change the venue, it will be done at short notice.

The condition of other 3 cities is also not good

Apart from Bangalore, the BCCI had also kept Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai as alternate venues for the mega auction. But corona cases are increasing in all three cities. In such a situation, if the board had to find a new venue, then the date will also have to be changed. The board is also talking to other state associations regarding the auction, so that preparations can be made for the last minute changes.
