Bhatinda, 5/1: In Punjab, a case of major security lapse during Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come to the fore. After the incident, the statement of Bathinda airport officials has also come to the fore. Bathinda airport officials told ANI that on his return to Bathinda airport, PM Modi told the officials there, “Thank your CM, that I came back alive till Bathinda airport.” In Punjab, Prime Minister Narendra Modi got stuck on a flyover for 15 to 20 minutes when some protesters blocked the road while going by road on Wednesday. The Home Ministry has termed this incident as a serious lapse in the security of the Prime Minister.

 

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy decided to return after a serious security breach during his visit to Punjab. The statement also said that the ministry has asked the Punjab government to fix accountability for this lapse and take strict action. The Prime Minister was on his way from Bathinda to the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala when the incident took place.

 

 

 

PM Modi reached Punjab today after a gap of two years. This was his first visit to the state after the controversial agriculture laws were repealed. The farmers had protested on the borders of Delhi for almost a year regarding these laws. The Prime Minister was to lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs 42,750 crore, including the satellite center of the Chandigarh-based Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Ferozepur and the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.

 

These included the four-laning of Amritsar-Una section, gauge conversion of Mukerian-Talwara railway line and the establishment of two new medical colleges at Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur.
