Barriers to JSW proposed project done away with,betelvines measurement and demolition work intensified in Dhinkia village

 Paradip 20/1:Barriers to the upcoming JSW project in Dhinkia Nuaga and Gadkujang panchayats under Ersama tehsil near Paradip are gradually getting eliminated. In the village of Dhinkia, where people have been protesting against setting up of industry since long, betelvine measurement and demolition work are now going on smoothly. Fifty betelvines were measured from that village today, of which 32 were demolished. This work is being carried out with the consent of the people through mutual talks with administrative officials. Five teams, led by Ersama Tahsildar Chowdhury Pranjananda Das, are speeding up the work. In Gobindpur village, on the other hand, the process of identifying and counting of the fruit trees of the local people has started today. The villagers cooperated the process after mutual discussion in the presence of the tehsildar. The people will be compensated as per the assessment of the government’s horticulture department. Further, IDCO has started the construction of boundary wall from Patna village. Local people and workers are being employed in the project. Till date, 336 betelvines have been demolished in Dhinkia panchayat and about 450 have been measured. In this village, 245 beneficiaries have been provided with financial assistance in the form of compensation of more than Rs 6 crores. Many beneficiaries have been found to be delaying in submitting their required certificates,resulting in the delay in providing them compensation. 

While land acquisition for the proposed JSW project is swiftly going on by the administration, the boundary wall construction by IDCO is going on smoothly.
