New Delhi, 10/2: RBI On Cryptocurrency: Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has once again expressed concerns regarding cryptocurrency. RBI Governor says that cryptocurrencies are extremely dangerous from the point of view of macroeconomic and financial stability of the country. This statement of Shaktikanta Das has come at a time when there is a discussion going on in the country to bring a law to regulate cryptocurrency.
Government and RBI have different stances regarding cryptocurrencies. On the one hand, while the RBI governor is calling it dangerous for the economy, in the budget, the government has made it legal in a way, by taxing it. At the same time, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also said that a bill for cryptocurrency will be brought to regulate cryptocurrency. However, when this bill will come, the Finance Minister says that he is not aware of it.
