India extends hand to help poverty-stricken Afghanistan

New Delhi, 22/2: India has extended its hand to help Afghanistan, which is suffering from inflation, poverty and food crisis. India will send 50 thousand metric tons of wheat (50 MT Wheat) to Afghanistan today via Pakistan. This consignment of food grains will be flagged off by Foreign Secretary Harshvardhan Shringla. The citizens of Afghanistan are very happy with this humanitarian initiative of India. A citizen who came to India from Afghanistan said that, I am very happy with this step of India.

 

This consignment of wheat will reach Afghanistan via Pakistan via Attari-Wagah border on the basis of talks with Pakistan. In this regard, India had sent a proposal to Islamabad on 7 October 2021, requesting transit facility to send 50 thousand metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan via Pakistan.
