Bhubaneswar, 4/5: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has directed to increase the amount of assistance to the next of kin of the martyred Oriya Jawan’s who have been heroic during the war and the aftermath of the war.
It is to be noted that the state government has set up a welfare fund for the welfare of the families of the martyrs and warriors from the time of the Kargil War for the welfare of the families of Javanese and officers living in the military and paramilitary forces. Initially, the subsidy was Rs 1 lakh, but in 2010 and 2012 it was increased to Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively.
