Bhubaneswar/Tikiri: In pursuance of contributing towards quality education in this region, Utkal Alumina International Limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group has set up 3 Mini Science Centers and 5 Pustakalayas (Library) at peripheral schools of Kashipur of Rayagada and Thuamul Rampur of Kalahandi in different programs conducted on 28th and 29th June 2022.
To enhance students’ aptitude towards science & math through practical orientation and fun learning methods, Utkal Alumina has set up 3 Mini Science Centers at Govt. High School Kashipur, Govt. High School Maikanch and Govt. High School Adri in association with Stem Learning Private Limited, Mumbai.
Similarly, to enhance the reading ability, comprehension and expression skills of the students, Utkal Alumina has set up 5 unique libraries i.e. Pustakalaya in Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir Tikiri, Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir Kashipur, Govt. UGME School Maikanch, Govt High School Hadiguda and Govt High School Adri in association with Angelique Foundation, New Delhi.
Sri. Bhimsen Sabar, Sub-collector Rayagada, Sri Debasis Kara BDO Kashipur, Sri. Sarat Sabar Tahasildar, Kashipur, Sri Mazhar Beig Unit Head & President Utkal Alumina and Dr. Lopamudra Priyardarshini, GM CSR, CR & Sustainability have graced the occasion and inaugurated the centers at different programs conducted on 28th and 29th June 2022.
Ms. Geeta Harish, Senior Consultant Angelique Foundation, Mr. Pravat Das, Program Officer Stem Learning were among the dignitaries who have joined the inaugural event.
In his host deliberation, Sri Mazhar Beig extended his heartfelt gratitude to the senior Government delegates for their gracious presence in the occasion. He emphasized on the commitment of Utkal Alumina in upgrading the education standard of the students in the peripheral villages. He also mentioned that Utkal Alumina would come up with such innovative and unique initiatives in future and would contribute towards upgrading education indicators of this region.
Sri. Bhimsen Sabar acknowledged the noble effort of Utkal Alumina towards quality education. He mentioned that such unique initiatives of the company would certainly impact and transform the education standard at this remote tribal hinterland. He encouraged the students and teachers to make best use of this facility.
