Tata Steel Meramandali and Angul Energy Observe National Fire Week

 

Narendrapur, April 18, 2023: Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM) and one of the subsidiary companies of Tata Steel, Angul Energy Limited (AEL) mark National Fire Service Week with mock drill and various activities on fire safety.

AEL conducted a full-scale mock drill simulating a fire in its plant located within the premise of TSM at Narendrapur, in the presence of the District Crisis Group, Angul. Smt. Archana Das, Assistant Director of Factories & Boilers, Angul Zone, representatives from local industries and government authorities attended the drill, which aimed to evaluate and improve emergency response capabilities.

ShaileshVerma, Managing Director, AEL; Agam Kumar, Chief, Safety, TSM; other senior executives of the company participated in the drill. Besides representatives from NTPC Kaniha, Aryan Energy Pvt Ltd, Smelter Plant, NALCO, Global Coal and Mining Ltd, JSPL, JCCPL, and JITPL had also attended this.  Smt. Archana Das evaluated the performance and provided constructive feedback for improvement.

Besides one exhibition on fire safety has also been organised in TSM for employees to visit and know more about the subject.

Earlier TSM had organised a special event to commence National Fire Service Week at the on-site Fire Station, attended by Ved Prakash Thakur, Chief, Shared Services; H. Maheshbabu, Chief, Steel Making, and other senior executives of the plant. Following fire safety flag hoisting and tribute to the fallen firefighters, a fire and rescue demonstration to raise awareness about fire safety.
