Residents Unhappy with Rural Water Supply Department’s Work.

Kantabanji, correspondence : The residents of Belpada village in Balangir district are expressing their dissatisfaction with the subpar work being carried out by the Rural Water Supply Department. The department’s work, intended to benefit the local community, is being executed at a disappointingly low standard, causing numerous problems for the villagers. In a recent incident, a truck loaded with gravel fell into a pit dug by the department for pipeline work in front of the Belpada office. Pedestrians are also struggling to navigate the muddy roads, with many slipping and falling. The locals have complained that the departmental officials are not taking any action against the contracting organization responsible for the poor work. According to government regulations, the pipeline work should be carried out by digging pits at least 3 meters away from the asphalt or concrete road. However, the contracting organization is digging up the entire road, leaving it in a state of disrepair. The villagers are demanding that the department takes immediate action to address these issues and ensure that the work is completed to a satisfactory standard.
