Berhampur: At least 22 persons have been arrested for attacking police personnel in Ganjam district of Odisha on Monday. The incident took place in the Pati Sunapur village under Golanthara Police Station limits in the district. As per reports, there is a tussle between two groups over the Thakurani Yatra. One group wanted to organise on the 11th May while the other group planned to do it towards end of this month. Due to the clash between these two groups, the Jatra did not take place on the 11th May but only the puja was held. Keeping the tension in view the administration imposed section 163 in the village yesterday. Due to this, a large police force was deployed. Suddenly, at night, people from one group pelted stones and bottles at the police personnel who were deployed. Some police personnel are reported to have been injured.
