Angul: The driver of a cold drinks laden truck died after the vehicle met with an accident in Angul district of Odisha yesterday night. The accident took place on the National Highway No. 149 under Khamar police station of the district. The deceased has been identified as Sumant Sahu from Telasalmia area under Boinda police station limits. According to information, a cold drinks laden truck was on its way from Cuttack to Rourkela. Late at night yesterday, the driver lost control over the steering and hit another truck that had been parked. As a result of the collision the driver of the truck got stuck. After getting information about the accident, the fire department personnel rushed to the spot and rescued him. However, by the time he was rescued, he had already succumbed to the injury. After getting information Khamar police reached the spot and seized both the vehicles. Investigation of the case is underway. Police have informed that autopsy of the body will be conducted after the family members reach the accident site.
