Beating Retreat Ceremony at Attari, Hussainiwala and Sadki to be resumed

New Delhi: The Beating Retreat Ceremony will be resumed at all three Joint Check Posts of Punjab Frontier from today that will be exclusive for media persons only. According to reports, the Beating Retreat Ceremony will be resumed for the public from tomorrow that is Wednesday. It is worth mentioning here that, the ceremony had been scaled down since April 24. In the wake of the recent tragic attack in Pahalgam, a calibrated decision has been taken to scale down the ceremonial display during the Retreat Ceremony at Attari, Hussainiwala and Sadki in Punjab. The BSF Punjab Frontier further informed, the key changes include: 1) Suspension of the symbolic handshake of Indian Guard Commander with the counterpart Guard Commander. 2) Gates to remain closed during the ceremony. It is further mentioning that the ceremony shall be resumed after the decision on the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
