Today i.e.on 22-05-2025, a short while ago, Sri Pradeep Kumar Behera, ASI of Police,Tigiria Police Station, Dist- Cuttack has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs 5000/- from a Complainant for compromising a dispute between him and a co-villager.
Counter reports were submitted on the dispute by both parties, following which the same was compromised. However, after the compromise, the ASI was demanding a bribe from the complainant to not take action against him on the counter report. At this, the complt. approached Vigilance authorities, following which the ASI was nabbed today.
The entire bribe money of Rs.5000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Behera, ASI, and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sri Behera from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case no 12/21.5.2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Behera, ASI.
