Jajpur: The mother has sold her 7-year-old son for Rs 18 thousand, alleged father and grandmother of the child in Jajpur district of Odisha and demanded justice on Friday to the District Collector. The incident has taken place in the Bada Suar village under Jajpur Block. The complainant husband has been identified as Prashanta of Bada Suara and his wife, against whom the accusation has been brought has been identified as Puja. As per reports, four years ago Prashant and his wife Puja had got separated due to a dispute. Accordingly, the woman was living in her father’s house along with their son. Now, the father had recently gone to the place of his wife when he came to know from the villagers that his wife has sold their only son for Rs 18 thousand. Accordingly, he approached the District Collector of Jajpur and filed his grievance in which he urged to take necessary action and get back his son to him. After getting the complaint, about the alleged matter that took place four years back, the District Child Protection Unit has been directed to investigate the incident, said the Additional District Magistrate.
