Today i. e. on 23.05.2025, a short while ago, Sri Gopal Krishna Pradhan, Sr. Revenue Assistant( SRA), Baripada Municipality, Dist- Mayurbhanj has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe Rs.10,000/- from a Complainant for processing his application submitted during Jan-2025 for allotment of stall in his name in the Municipality market complex area. Since January 2025, complt had been requesting Sri Pradhan to process his application. But, Sri Pradhan was demanding bribe Rs.10,000/- to initiate his application for the above purpose. Left with no other option, complainant approached Vigilance authorities alleging harassment by Sri Pradhan, SRA. Following which, Vigilance Sleuths nabbed today Sri Pradhan while taking demanded bribe Rs.10,000/- from the complt. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Pradhan and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations connected to Sri Pradhan from DA angle.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 5/2025, under 7PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Pradhan, SRA.
