SUSPECTED ILLGOTTEN CASH OF RS. 55 LAKHS AND GOLD 1.4 KG WAS ALLEGEDLY PARKED BY SRI SETHY IN TENANT’S HOUSE TO AVOID DETECTION BY VIGILANCE DEPARTMENT WHICH IS UNDER VERIFICATION.
Sri Susanta Kumar Sethy, Junior Engineer, R&B, Khariar under Nuapada R&B Division has been placed under arrest by Odisha Vigilance for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) and will be forwarded today to the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
In this connection, Vigilance Cell PS case No.05/2025 has been registered against Sri Susanta Kumar Sethy, JE.
Based on searches conducted on properties of Sri Susanta Kumar Sethy, Junior Engineer, R&B, Khariar under Nuapada R&B Division, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 3 multi storeyed buildings,1 Farmhouse,9 high value plots, 2 costly four wheelers including 1 benami car, deposits Rs.55 lakhs, household articles worth over Rs.14 Lakh etc, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
Further, it is learnt that Sri Sethy had kept huge ill-gotten money of Rs 55 Lakhs and gold weighing 1.4 kg in the house of his tenant to evade detection during Vigilance raids which was usurped by the tenant. In this connection, the spouse of Sri Sethy had lodged an FIR in Dhouli Police Station vide FIR No. 93 dated 13.4.2024 against the tenant for not returning the same. The case is now under investigation by Dhouli Police Station. This cash and gold ornaments is suspected to have been the ill-gotten money of Sri Sethy which is under verification by the Vigilance Officials.
