Khariar: A 10 foot long python weighing 8 kg has reportedly been rescued in Nuapada district of Odisha on Sunday night. The huge snake was rescued from the back yard of a house in Chalanpada Chhaka on the Nuapada-Khariar National Highway. As per reports, the family members of Umakanta Rout first saw the huge snake in their back yard located near a bridge near Chalanpada chhaka under Khariar Police Station limits. They got scared after seeing such a huge snake and informed Umakanta Rout. Gradually many people rushed to the spot to witness the big snake while the Forest Department of Khariar was immediately informed about it. After getting information, the snake helpline team of the Khariar Forest Department reached the spot and rescued the huge snake. Following rescue it was observed that the huge python was 10 foot long and over 8 kg in weigh. Later, the Forest Department released the snake into its natural habitat at a lonely place in the nearby jungle.
