Chatrapur: Dengue is spreading rapidly in the Bada Arjyapalli village in Chatrapur of Ganjam district. The contagious disease claimed the life of one minor while five cases of Dengue have been reported from the village. A health team under the leadership of Dr. Swadhin Kumar Rath of Munisipentha Community Health Centre (CHC) reached the village and collected samples of stagnant water that will be sent to labs. An awareness meeting was conducted by the Arjyapalli Sarpanch Trilochan Behera. Several other officials also attended the meeting. The meeting was conducted to aware the people about stopping the spread of the disease. The Dengue is a water borne disease and is spread by the mosquito vector. The villagers were also asked to immediately rush to hospitals if they discover any symptoms.
