Farmers Training Camp on Occasion of Celebrating Year of Cooperatives

Malkangiri AO correspondent On 30/05/2025, on the occasion of celebrating the International Year of Cooperatives, a farmers training camp was organized by the Malkangiri District Cooperative Department and the Regulated Market Committee for information and awareness on the sale of surplus unharvested crops. The camp was presided over by Theophile Shabar, Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives, while the guests of honour were the District Chief Agriculture Officer, Regulated Market Committee Secretary Devi Prasad Tripathi, KCC Director Gopi Pangi, KCC Branch Manager Deepak Kumar Khara, Deputy Assistant Registrars Chandra Sethia and Sanjay Kumar Das, Markfed Officer Dadhi vaman Sahu, Agriculture Officer G. Ramakrishna, and social worker Bhagwan Sahu conducted the program.  On this occasion, the presidents, managing directors and all the members of the management council of eight Lamps of Malkangiri district and more than 70 farmers were present and participated in the relevant training process. Theophile Shabar, the district deputy registrar who was previously in charge, was welcomed with flowers by everyone as he assumed the charge for a full term.  Subsequently, secretary RMC Shri Tripathi gave information on the construction of market sheds and its walls for the proper management of various mandis on behalf of RMC, and RMC demonstrator tested the quality and standard of Kharif grain through various equipment. The Agriculture Officer provided information on various government schemes of the department such as seed distribution, various agricultural implements under agricultural subsidy. On behalf of the Cooperative Department, MD Shri Raut gave information on farmer registration, various types of farmer loan schemes, provision of self-employment loans to self-help groups, Kisan Credit Card, seed, fertilizer, pesticide distribution process. In addition, Shri Sahu gave information on the price support scheme through Markfed for moong, mustard, sunflower and groundnut cultivation and its minimum support price. At the end of the program, the farmers informed the officials about various problems of their area and the concerned officials gave detailed answers.  District Cooperative Deputy Registrar Shri Sabbar declared the camp closed with a vote of thanks to everyone.
