Doctor Durbadal murder case: Verdict after 11 years, convict sentenced to life imprisonment

SUBARNAPUR, 31/5:  The verdict has been announced in the much talked about pediatrician murder case. After 11 years, the Sonepur ADJ Court has pronounced the verdict in the case. The Additional District and Sessions Judge has ordered the two accused to be sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 25,000 each. According to reports, on the evening of September 21, 2014, pediatrician and ADMO Dr. Durbadal Mishra was brutally murdered by in front of his house. The police have arrested two accused after investigating the incident. The verdict was pronounced on Saturday ( 31/05/2025 ) after the final hearing of the incident and both the accused have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Along with this, the Additional District and Sessions Judge has ordered the two accused to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 each. The two accused are Pratyush Panda (Babulu) and Ashok Sahu. Dasharath Mahana was the public prosecutor in this controversial incident, while Rajendra Agarwal was the accused’s lawyer. While the accused’s lawyer said that they will appeal the verdict in the higher court, the public prosecutor refused to respond. Report – Ugrasen Karmi.
