Bengaluru, 2/6: The Cubbon Park police have registered a case against a bar and restaurant in Bengaluru co-owned and promoted by senior Indian cricketer Virat Kohli for alleged smoking zone violations, police officials said.
Following a permission from a local court, the police registered the FIR on May 31 under Sections 4 (prohibition of smoking in a public place) and 21 (punishment for smoking in certain places) of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) against One8 Commune near Kasturba Road, MG Road, in Central Bengaluru. This follows the special drive by the Bengaluru police, which kicked off on May 29, aimed at preventing smoking-related violations.
