Sambalpur :Aditya Aluminium marked World Environment Day with a series of impactful initiatives under the global theme
“Beat Plastic Pollution.” The celebration, held at the Aditya Unit, witnessed enthusiastic participation from
township residents, employees, plant leadership, and officials from the Odisha State Pollution Control Board.
The day’s events were inaugurated in the presence of key dignitaries including Mr. Jagannath Nayak (Unit
Head), Dr. Satya Narayan Nanda (Regional Officer, OSPCB), Mr. Gulshan Tiwari (Plant Head-CPP), Mr.
Ranjan Jena (Cluster Head, Environment), and Mr. Lalit Charan, along with the broader plant team. Officials
from the OSPCB, including Mr. Rakesh Panda (Assistant Environmental Engineer), Mr. Manoranjan Pradhan
(Assistant Environmental Scientist), Ms. A. Kusum Minz (Deputy Environmental Scientist) and their team, also
graced the occasion.
The program featured a Cyclothon/Walkathon, tree plantation drive, Pledge ceremony on mission life, and
distribution of Jute bags, all designed to promote sustainability and raise awareness about the pressing issue of
plastic pollution.
In their special addresses, both OSPCB officials and the Unit Head underscored the environmental and regulatory
significance of responsible plastic waste management. They urged everyone to adopt eco-friendly habits, reduce
single-use plastics, and contribute to building a cleaner, greener future.
