Bhadark Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. (FACOR), a Vedanta Group company, marked World Environment Day 2025 with a series of impactful green initiatives, reflecting its unwavering commitment to sustainability and community development.
The day commenced with the inauguration of FACOR’s Cycling Club, where employees pedalled through the lush green belt surrounding the plant, reinforcing the message of eco-friendly commuting and healthy living. This was followed by a ‘Suraksha Sankalp’ session, focused on the theme of Mechanical Structural Integrity, promoting workplace safety and environmental consciousness. Winners of various internal events were honored with saplings as a symbol of green achievement.
In alignment with the national campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, FACOR extended its efforts to neighbouring villages, distributing over 500 saplings and conducting awareness drives to educate communities on the importance of afforestation. Employees further contributed by planting saplings within the plant premises, with a June-month target of 1,000 saplings. A significant highlight was the inauguration of nurseries at both plant and mines locations, collectively housing 350+ saplings to support continuous green efforts.
Pankaj Sharma, CEO FACOR, shared, “At FACOR, sustainability is not a one-day affair, it’s a way of life. On World Environment Day, we are proud to align our business with nature, and our people with purpose.”
Kamod Singh, COO, FACOR, added, “Every initiative, whether a sapling planted or a cycle ridden, brings us one step closer to a greener future. It’s a proud moment to see our teams lead by example.”
Krutisundar Mohapatra, Chief HSE Officer, said, “Safety and sustainability go hand in hand. Our focus on mechanical structural integrity along with large-scale plantation reflects our holistic approach to a safer, greener workplace and community.”
FACOR continues to embed environmental stewardship into its core values, striving to safeguard the future through responsible mining and community-first practices.
