Rahul makes fresh match-fixing barb over Maharashtra polls, poll body calls allegations affront to rule of law

New Delhi, 7/6-: With Rahul Gandhi once again raising questions about Maharashtra election calling it ‘match-fixing’, the Election Commission officials on Saturday said raising “unsubstantiated” allegations on electoral rolls is alaw” and the attempt to defame the poll body after any “unfavourable” verdict was “completely absurd”.

Any misinformation being spread, by anyone, is “not only a sign of disrespect towards law, but also brings disrepute” to the thousands of representatives appointed by their own party and “demotivates” lakhs of election staff who work untiringly.
