Bhubaneswar, June 07, 2025: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint
venture of Tata Power and Government of Odisha, has stepped up its campaign to
accelerate solar rooftop installations across Central Odisha under the PM Surya Ghar Muft
Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY).
For the benefit of its consumers, TPCODL has waived the net metering processing fee of
₹500 for rooftop solar systems under the PM Suryaghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. This eliminates
the process of online demand note generation and payment through the payment gateway.
Earlier TPCODL had eliminated the requirement of technical feasibility study for systems up
to 10 kw and had also minimised the time taken for site inspection , net metering
agreement signing, net meter installation etc by making the Section Manager the single
point contact for all such activities.
In order to make the scheme more and more consumer friendly, TPCODL continuously
endeavours to simplify processes within the regulatory framework.
TPCODL encourages all its residential customers to set up rooftop solar power system,
generate own green power and save on electricity bills. Attractive central and state
financial assistance is available to all residential consumers that ensures return of
investment within three years.
Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL, said, “Our commitment to promoting renewable energy
solutions is unwavering. This campaign is not just about installing solar rooftops; it’s about
creating a lasting change to provide a sustainable future for our communities. We aim to
empower residents and businesses to embrace solar energy and contribute to a greener
Odisha.”
