Jajpur: A tragic incident occurred near Ragadi road under Korai police limits in Jajpur district, where a lightning strike left one dead and lanother critically injured. According to sources, the deceased has been identified as a truck helper, while the injured individual is the truck driver. Both had parked their truck in front of the local restaurant and were bathing when the bolt of lightning struck them. Soon after the incident, locals and police from Korai police station reached the spot. The police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem as part of the initial investigation. An unnatural death (UD) case has been registered, and further inquiry into the incident has been initiated. Police are also verifying the identities and details of the people involved in the incident. Meanwhile, the injured truck driver has been shifted to the Jajpur’s Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment. His condition is reported to be stable but under observation. Authorities have urged people to stay cautious during stormy weather, especially in open areas.
