There was no preparation meeting for the Rath Yatra, dissatisfaction in the devotees’ : Will this year’s Sonepur Rath Yatra be canceled?

SUBARNAPUR —- The holy Ghosh Yatra has been celebrated with great pomp in Subarnapur town since the time of the Rajarajuda . Due to the indifference of the administration, it is slowly disappearing. But this time the situation is different. There is a doubt whether the Rath Yatra will take place this year or not. This is because the Sevayat and Rath Yatra committee members have complained that the Sub Collector and the Devottar officer have not even held a preparation meeting. After this came to light during the Devsnan Purnima today, there has been widespread dissatisfaction in the devotees’ palace. Meanwhile, the intellectuals have strongly condemned such actions of the administration and warned that the administration should not play games with the emotions of the devotees and have demanded that the Sub Collector and the Devottar officer immediately schedule a Rath Yatra preparation meeting. Jagannath’s sevayats said that they have been meeting the officials of the temple for a long time for the chariot preparation meeting, but the administration is always asleep. If there is any disruption in the chariot procession due to administrative irregularities, then the officials and the district administration will be responsible for it, said the servants and committee members. This is because the wood has not been brought to the chariot shed or the chariot construction has not started. Meanwhile, the committee members revealed that some new wood is also needed during the chariot construction, but it has not been collected yet. Therefore, there is a risk that the rath yatra will be stopped this time. Meanwhile, some members of the Jagannath Temple Rath Yatra Committee said that if the chariot does not arrive, then the Thakur will be kept in the front mandap in the Jagannath temple itself and the ceremony will be held. Meanwhile, today, on the holy Devsnan Purnima, the Devsnan Niti of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and sister Subhadra were held.
