Today, i.e. on 12.06.2025, a short while ago, Sri Bhisma Pradhan, Revenue Inspector (RI), Goudpalli Revenue Circle under Jamankira Tahasil, Sambalpur, has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.40,000/- (Rupees Forty Thousand) from a Complainant to furnish favourable report in a lease case in his favour and his other family members and for issuance of ROR( Land Patta) in their favour. Since November 2024, the complt was requesting Sri Pradhan in the matter but Sri Pradhan was demanding bribe Rs 40,000/- to furnish a favorable report. Left with no other option, the complt approached the Vigilance authorities. Following this, a Vigilance team nabbed Sri Pradhan, RI, today while taking bribe Rs 40,000/- from the complt. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused Sri Pradhan, RI.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Pradhan, RI from DA angle.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 12 dtd. 11.06.2025 u/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988, as amended by the P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Pradhan, RI.
