Balasore: Water level in Subarnarekha breaches danger mark, Leaves of officials cancelled

Balasore: The water level of Subarnarekha river has crossed the danger mark in Rajghat village of Balasore district. On Saturday, due to the increase in the water level of the river, there is a threat of flood to the people along the river. The danger signal was triggered. As a result, the low-lying areas in Baliapal, Bhogarai and Jaleswar have been affected. The people living along the Subarnarekha river in Baunsakhana and Matikhana village are terrorised due to the overflowing river. This is the first flood in the Subarnarekha river this year. As the level in the Subarnarekha river is increasing the leaves and holidays of the officials in four blocks of Balasore district was cancelled. Collector Suryavanshi Mayur Bikas has directed the officials not to leave the Headquarters without the Headquarter leaving permission. There is a chance of a flood-like situation in Jaleswar, Bhogarai, Basta and Baliapala block. Thus all the officers have been asked to be on an alert for 24 hours. Subarnarekha is blooming due to low pressure rainfall. The people lying in the low lying  areas will also be evacuated to flood relief shelters if the need arises. Similarly, keeping a stock of necessary medicines, dry foods have also been directed by the government.
