Double low pressure likely to develop within 12 hours, MeT issues alert warnings

Bhubaneswar: A double low pressure system is likely to develop within 12 hours in the Bay of Bengal. While one low pressure is active, another low pressure is likely to develop in the same region.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that this formation will occur in the next 12 hours. A low pressure may form in the same area. This low pressure is likely to be in the eastern and western parts.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has warned 12 districts for 2 hours. An orange alert has also been issued for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities.

According to the IMD notification, an orange alert has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack, Nuapada, Balangir, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Angul, Bargarh and Sundargarh.

However, moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in these districts in the next two hours. People have been advised to monitor the weather conditions and be prepared to move to safe places accordingly to stay safe from lightning.
