Baliguda: Two Maoists were killed in a retaliatory attack by security personnel in the forest of Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Monday. The exchange of fire took place in the Indrisuga hill area under Baliguda police station limits in Gumikia panchayat.According to reports, a joint operation was conducted by SOG, DVF, and CRPF to check Maoist activities in the forest when Maoists opened fire, prompting security personnel to retaliate. As a result, two Maoists were killed.As of the time this report was written, the encounter between security personnel and Maoists was still ongoing in the hill area of Kandhamal district.
