Rajkot, 27/12 (AO Bureau):The trial of the Coronavirus vaccine is going on in India. The first dose of Bharat Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine ‘COVAXIN ‘ has been given to 750 volunteers in Gujarat on Sunday. A senior doctor said that more than 750 volunteers have been given this dose in the third phase of the vaccine trial at City Hospital, Ahmedabad. He said that after giving the first dose of the vaccine, no side effects have been seen in any of the volunteers.
Bharat Biotech is developing COVAXIN in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) -National Institute of Virology (NIV). Dr. Kiran Rami, head of the TB and Chest department of the hospital told PTI that Phase III vaccine tests are being done at Sola Civil Hospital. More than 750 volunteers, including doctors, nursing staff, paramedics, such as about 50 health workers, have been given the first dose of cocaine.

Dr. Rami said, “A total of 1,000 volunteers will be vaccinated by the end of this month. We have also started giving the second booster dose to those volunteers who have completed 28 days of the first dose. That includes just 15 people.”
