New Delhi, 30/12 (AO Bureau)The government of India has extended the ban on international flights till 31 January 2021 due to the outbreak of Coronavirus spread across the world. This restriction will not apply to special flights and international air cargo operations. Aviation regulator DGCA gave this information on Wednesday.
Regular international passenger airline has been suspended from 23 March due to Coronavirus epidemic. However, special international flights have been allowed to operate in certain countries since May under the Vande Bharat Abhiyan and “Air Bubble” arrangements. India has signed an “air bubble” agreement with 24 countries including the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Bhutan, and France. The DGCA also said that this would not affect the operation of the cargo planes. On Wednesday, the Ministry of Aviation has extended the temporary ban on UK flights to 7 January 2021 in view of the strain of coronavirus spreading in Britain.
Earlier, the Central Government upheld the restrictions related to covid-19 on various activities, saying that the number of under-treatment of Covid-19 patients in the country has been steadily decreasing, but cases of infection have increased rapidly and in the UK There is a need to maintain surveillance and vigilance in view of a new form of this virus. The Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement that it has issued new guidelines in connection with monitoring (status) of Covid-19 and these guidelines will remain in effect till 31 January. Also, it has asked states and union territories to keep a strict vigil to prevent new year celebrations and cases from escalating in cold weather in any way.
