Sydney, 5/1 (AO Bureau): The third match of the four-match series between India and Australia is going to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from 7 January. The Indian cricket team has suffered a setback before this match. Team India’s stylish batsman KL Rahul has been out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The BCCI has given information about this by tweeting from its official Twitter handle.
According to the information received, there has been a sprain in the wrist of Rahul’s left hand. He got hurt while batting during net practice at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday. In such a situation, now this wicket-keeper-batsman will not be available for the next two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
BCCI secretary Jai Shah said in a press release, “KL Rahul has sprained his left wrist while batting in the nets at Team India’s practice session at the MCG on Saturday. Rahul will not be available for the remaining two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. They will need about three weeks to recover fully and gain full strength. Now he will return to India and go directly to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for the rehabilitation of his injury.
