New Delhi, 12/1 (AO Bureau) : Coronavirus Vaccine will be introduced in the country from January 16. The Central Government recently clarified that it will bear the cost of vaccination of 3 crore health workers and frontliners. In the country, the emergency use of Covishield of AstraZeneca-Oxford produced by Serum Institute of India and Covaxin manufactured by Bharat Biotech, ICMR, and NIV Pune has been approved. The first batch of vaccines has reached Delhi from Pune Airport in Maharashtra. After this, it will be sent to other states.
The first batch of ‘Covishield’ vaccines left for the Pune airport from ‘Serum Institute of India’ in the early hours of Tuesday, from where the first aircraft carrying the vaccines flew to Delhi. A source involved with the work of carrying the vaccines said that three temperature-controlled trucks left the ‘Serum Institute of India’ for the Pune airport shortly before 5 am, carrying these vaccines.
It was tweeted from Pune airport, ‘Ready to go, standing with India. Vaccines that eliminate the virus are being kept in aircraft to be transported across the country.
