New Delhi,15/1 (AO bureau): Today is the 51st day of the farmers’ movement against the new agricultural laws of the Modi government. At the same time, the ninth round meeting of farmer leaders is also going on in Vigyan Bhawan with the government. Meanwhile, sources were quoted saying that the proposed tractor rally of farmers on Republic Day on 26 January has been canceled. Senior farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal has written a letter to all farmer organizations, making such an appeal. After which the farmers have agreed. The central government has also been formally informed about this issue. At present, no official statement has come from the government and farmers organizations in this matter.
Earlier on Friday, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait had also indicated to cancel the tractor rally, although he said that he would make the decision as the Supreme Court had said. Tikait had said that if the Supreme Court says then farmers will not hold a tractor rally.
