MPs to no longer have subsidised food in Parliament canteen

New Delhi, 19/1 (AO Bureau) : MPs will no longer get subsidized food in the canteen of the Parliament Canteen. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla said on Tuesday that the subsidy given to MPs on food in the canteen of Parliament has been banned. Om Birla said that the budget session of Parliament will start on 29 January. During the Parliament session, the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha will run from 9 am to 2 pm. While the proceedings of the Lok Sabha will run from 4 pm to 8 pm.
During this time, Zero Hour and Question Hour will be held. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that arrangements have been made for MPs to test their RT-PCR Covid-19 near the residence. RT-PCR investigation will be done on 27–28 January in the Parliament premises. Arrangements have also been made for RT-PCR investigation of MPs’ families, employees. The vaccination campaign policy set by the Center and the states will also apply to the MPs. During the Parliament session, a predetermined one-hour question hour will be allowed. Instead of Northern Railways, ITDC will now run the canteen of Parliament.
