Ajinkya Rahane may surpass MS Dhoni’s record in the India vs English Series

New Delhi, 29/1 (AO Bureau): The next few days are also going to be historical for Ajinkya Rahane who emerged as the best captain by winning the series against Australia. A four-match Test series is to be played between India and England in February-March. Ajinkya Rahane will have a chance to leave the former captain MS Dhoni (MS Dhoni) behind in terms of most runs during this series. The first Test of the series between India and England is to be played in Chennai Test from 5 February.

32-year-old Ajinkya Rahane has played 69 Test matches so far. He has scored 4471 runs in these matches at an average of 42.58. It also includes 12 centuries. If Rahane manages to score 406 runs in the 4-match series against England, he will overtake MS Dhoni. Dhoni has scored 4876 runs in 90 Tests at an average of 38.09. Dhoni had scored 6 centuries in his Test care

Ajinkya Rahane has scored 12 centuries in an 8-year Test career. If he score a single century against England, then he will leave  Pauli Umrigar and Murali Vijay behind in terms of maximum centuries. Both of these names also have 12-12 Test centuries. If Rahane scores 2 centuries in the India-England series, he will also be equal to Gundappa Vishwanath (14).
