Kerala, 20/2 (AO Bureau): E Sreedharan, who is going to step into politics with the decision to join the BJP, said that he hoped that the BJP would field him as the Chief Ministerial candidate in the Kerala Assembly elections. He said that this will give the party a new face in Kerala and will give the party a chance to change its image in the state.
Earlier on Thursday, the 88-year-old engineer said that his main goal is to bring the party to power in Kerala and he is also ready to take over as chief minister if the party wins. He said that if the BJP wins the assembly elections in April-May this year, then their focus will be to develop infrastructure on a large scale and take the state out of the debt trap.
