New Delhi, 2/3 (AO Bureau): Railways have given a big shock to the passengers. Central Railways has increased platform ticket fares by 5 times at some stations of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) to curb the increasing crowds on the platform. In view of the increasing cases of corona in Maharashtra, the Railways has taken this decision. This platform ticket price is effective from February 24 and will be applicable till June 15 this year.
Speaking to PTI on Tuesday, an official said that in view of the Kovid epidemic, this increase in platform ticket price has been done to prevent over-crowding at railway stations in this summer season.
Which stations have increased the ticket price?
Central Railway has increased the price of platform tickets from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, and Lokmanya Tilak Turnimus and at Thane, Kalyan, Panvel, and Bhiwandi Road stations
Let me tell you that even before that, the railways had decided to increase the fares of platform tickets at many stations. In 2020, the price of platform tickets in the Pune division was increased five times to 50 rupees.

Let me tell you, the platform ticket is valid for two hours. If you are going to leave or take any of your relatives on the railway platform, then you are allowed to stay on the platform for 2 hours at the time of taking the platform ticket. Failure to exceed this may lead to a penalty.
