Pipili, 27/3 (AO Bureau): The Pipili by-election is set to take place on April 17. Candidates from both the BJD and the BJP have already been announced. BJP-backed Patnaik filed his nomination papers on Friday, while BJD candidate Rudra Pratap Maharathy will fill his nomination papers on March 30.
After the death of Pradeep Maharathi, the by-elections will be held in Pipili. On the other hand, the BJD has set up a special committee for each panchayat for the Pipili by-election. The team is responsible for youth, students, women, and senior leaders. Yesterday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Rudra Pratap Maharathi’s name for the BJP. Pradeep Maharathi’s son is Rudra Pratap Maharathi. Rudra Pratap Maharathi said he would work for the betterment of Pipili and Delang residents after the nomination was announced.
